Multiple Wins for Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company at 2013 American Cheese Society Annual Judging & Competition in Madison, WI

Point Reyes, CA (August 5, 2013) – Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company of Marin County took home two ribbons at the American Cheese Society’s Annual Judging & Competition in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, August 2nd. Point Reyes Mozzarella earned a 1st Place Ribbon in the Fresh Mozzarella Category and the company’s Bay Blue received a 3rd Place Ribbon in the Rinded-Blue Cheese Category.
The American Cheese Society celebrated its 30th anniversary this year in Madison where the 2013 Judging & Competition saw a record number of entries: 1,794 cheeses and cultured milk products from 257 different companies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Giacomini, together with his wife and four daughters, founded Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company on their family dairy in 2000. Original Blue™ is the company’s flagship cheese. The ACS honors add to an award filled Summer: In July the company’s, buttery-flavored table cheese, Toma, won the coveted Gold sofie Award for Best Cheese or Dairy Product from the Specialty Food Association and Bay Blue took the event’s marquis award for Best New Product.
